I am ever so glad that this man has been arrested. He was acting in a dangerous and downright stupid manner unbecoming of a police officer. Not only that, but he caused a real disturbance to a school district, police department, and 1000s of students, teachers, and other staff.

I would advocate for a severe punishment for this man regardless of the circumstances, but with the events of the past week or so, I think this man really needs to be made an example of. With deadly shootings in three states (Wisconsin, Colorado, and Pennsylvania) in the last week, this behavior goes beyond its usual level of atrocity. People?s tensions have been high, on guard, and probably more than a little jumpy.

Although I?ll stop short of labeling this man a terrorist, he is an idiot by most any definition. There?s really not much more to say.

On that note, my thoughts go out to all the victims and their families from the shootings in Wisconsin, Colorado, and Pennsylvania. I cannot think of a crime much worse than the execution-style murder of young, innocent Amish girls. God bless them and their families.

Common Sense:
Regardless of who you are, don?t threaten or plan any type of violence, especially in schools. If you?re a police officer or other official, be especially careful of such threats. And finally, of you must engage in such actions, don?t do so in a week that has seen three other school shootings.
