News:
Apparently the same type of people who bring you beheadings of American civilian contractors and terrorist attacks on groups of innocent Israelis have again turned on their own people.
According to the Associated Press, two people were shot and killed in Somalia for watching a ‘banned’ World Cup game on television. This all occurred when a group of teenagers were watching the game, being shown by a local businessman. It is true that the Supreme Islamic Courts Council have banned all television and movies in the area, but the punishment seems to fall out of line from what should be expected.
Views:
Needless to say, this blogger finds it insane that something as simple as watching television can lead to death, even in strict, radical Islamist nations. It seems to me that arresting them should have been enough, perhaps with a little Islamist torture thrown in for good measure.
Common Sense:
This one is far too easy. When in an area controlled by Islamists, do your best to follow the laws - locals included.
